Core Academics
The educational programs at Broadmoor Elementary include an academically rich curriculum for Kindergarten through sixth grade. High academic standards are in place for all content areas.
The Scott Foresman "Reading Street" core reading program is used at all grade levels to teach reading, language arts and spelling. This core program combines both whole and small group reading instruction. In writing, teachers utilize both Step Up to Writing and Six Traits curriculum.
EnVision Math, a hands-on, problem solving approach, is used to teach mathematics.
Science and social studies are integrated into the reading and writing curriculum.
Broadmoor Elementary also utilizes a Direct Instruction intervention program at all grade levels for students who may need extra support in reading and math.
Specials and Support Services
In addition to the core academic curriculum, physical education, music, and art are offered to all students.
Elementary Band classes are available for students in the fourth through sixth grades.
English Language Learning support instruction is available to qualified students. Services can consist of pull-out and/or consultation support.
Broadmoor Elementary is supported by the Cheyenne Mountain School District special education program. We provide services for children who have special instructional needs. Services provided are dependent on the Individual Education Plan for each student.
