6th Grade Graduation 2018

6th Grade Graduation will be on Wednesday, May 23 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in our school's gym/cafeteria/stage area.

Students need to dress nice (no workout/gym clothes) and be prepared to walk up a flight of stairs, over the stage, and back down a flight of stairs.  This should not be the first time a student wears heels for the first time :-).

There will be a party held at "Summit" up off of Interquest at 4:00 PM.  This is a NON school sponsored event, so you are responsible for the transportation and supervision of your children.  It is a fun way to send off the year though!!  I hope to see you all there!

Here is a link to the flyer that went home on 4/5/18.

General Information

Welcome to 6th Grade!

I'm so excited about this school year!  It is my 4th year here as a part of the Broadmoor family and my 10th year teaching.    I have been married to my wonderful husband for 13 years now and we are the proud parents to two daughters and two dogs  My oldest daughter, Jorie, 6 and a 1st grader here at Broadmoor this year.  My youngest daughter is Breck and is 2 years old.  Some things you should know about me:

1 - I LOVE math and numbers.  I will have several "geek out" moments during math instruction this year.

2 - I am an avid reader and especially enjoy reading Young Adult books, so if you have something you read and think I would enjoy, please let me know.

3 - I love my job.  For the 8 hours you are with me 5 days a week, you are my kids.  I'm passionate about learning and want to learn as much from you as I hope you do from me.

Lets make this 2017-2018 school year the best!

Junior High Preparation is underway!

As we approach the end of our 2017-2018 6th grade school year there are many things that we are working on to better prepare you for the transition to Junior High.  Here is a list of just a few:

1- Learn how to use and open a turn style combination lock.

2- Learn how to transition to a locker, retrieve the supplies you need for your next class, and transition to another class in a timely manner (the Junior High has 5 min.)

3- Organize homework, assignments, notes, etc. for several different classes, all with teachers with different expectations and rules.

4- Work on our Executive Functioning skills, how to identify at what level you are functioning at, and practice skills that will help you function at a higher level.

We will be going on our Junior High tour where you will be able to ask questions and look at the building on May 2, 2018.
