General Information

Welcome to 6th Grade!

I'm so excited about this school year!  It is my 4th year here as a part of the Broadmoor family and my 10th year teaching.    I have been married to my wonderful husband for 13 years now and we are the proud parents to two daughters and two dogs  My oldest daughter, Jorie, 6 and a 1st grader here at Broadmoor this year.  My youngest daughter is Breck and is 2 years old.  Some things you should know about me:

1 - I LOVE math and numbers.  I will have several "geek out" moments during math instruction this year.

2 - I am an avid reader and especially enjoy reading Young Adult books, so if you have something you read and think I would enjoy, please let me know.

3 - I love my job.  For the 8 hours you are with me 5 days a week, you are my kids.  I'm passionate about learning and want to learn as much from you as I hope you do from me.

Lets make this 2017-2018 school year the best!

Plan ahead for State Testing!

At this point it looks like our State testing will occur immediately before and after spring break. Sixth grade students will most likely take the English Language Arts assessment the week before spring break and the Math assessment the week after.  Please do not plan extended family vacations or doctor’s appointments during this time if possible.

Winter Scantron Testing

We will be taking the Math Scantron test on Wednesday, January 17 from 8:15 to 9:40AM.  This test is important because it is one of the data points used to determine placement for Junior High Math.  If we do not finish on that day, then we will be completing the testing on Thursday, January 18 from 12:15-1:45 PM.  Please make sure you come to school having eaten a good breakfast and with a good night's sleep under your belt.
