Program Information

Hi there!

I am Mr. Brian Reed. I have been the Physical Education teacher at Broadmoor since the fall of 1991. I would like to take this opportunity to explain to parents what your student(s) will be experiencing in my class. The purpose of Physical Education class at Broadmoor Elementary is for all students to learn and develop fundamental movement skills, to become physically fit, to participate regularly in physical activity, to know the implications of and benefits from involvement in physical activities and to appreciate the value of physical activity and its contributions to a healthy lifestyle.

Physical Education classes at Broadmoor meet for 40 minutes every other day. For this time to be utilized at its utmost capacity students need to come dressed appropriately in tennis shoes and proper clothing. Please check the calendar on the school newsletter to determine which days your child will have P.E. so that they may plan ahead and be prepared for physical activity. By taking an active role and working together our students will reap the benefits that physical fitness provide. Thanks for being a part of the Broadmoor team. Here’s to a great and healthy year!

Brian Reed,
Physical Education Instructor

P.E. News

8/17/18

Hi There!

We will be holding our Kindergarten – 4th grade Field Day on Friday, September 21.

Field Day is a great opportunity to build a sense of camaraderie and school spirit. These are qualities we strive to build from day one. It only makes sense that we have this event at the beginning of the school year!

This is a special morning for your child to have fun, enjoy friends, be active and practice great sportsmanship.

From 8:30 to 10:00  there are a variety of individual activities for your child to enjoy.

From 10:10 to 11:15 we hold larger group activities which include 50 yard dash, potato sack races, tug of war and a pie eating contest.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Sincerely,
Brian Reed
